Hey sunflowers! I know my last post was almost 2 months ago & I apologize for the wait on a new one… so here it goes!
I have been practicing a minimalist lifestyle for a while now. I decided to practice because I was tired of having too many choices to wear of clothing & accessories and just the overwhelming amount of material things made my space feel cluttered. I’m not an extremist with minimalism, to the point that I don’t own a television but I do consider my strong believer that minimalism is the way to go. Plus nowadays we give material things too much meaning. Since I’ve started I find myself constantly getting rid of stuff I don’t wear or use. If I buy something new I make sure I’m replacing it & not adding. Also I only possess one of each thing.
What is Minimalism? : a tool to rid yourself of life’s excess in favor of focusing on what’s important—so you can find happiness, fulfillment, and freedom. (via theminimalist.com)
Benefits of Minimalism :
- Eliminate our discontent
- Reclaim our time
- Live in the moment
- Pursue our passions
- Discover our missions
- Experience real freedom
- Create more, consume less
- Focus on our health
- Grow as individuals
- Contribute beyond ourselves
- Rid ourselves of excess stuff
- Discover purpose in our lives
Outside of material things, minimalism can be an asset to our relationships as well. Quality over Quantity! I’ve learned in life that I rather have a few loyal friends over so many acquaintances disguising themselves as real friends that really aren’t.
I encourage you all to give minimalist living a try. Start out with one part of your life & watch it spread into every part. Let me know if you do!
